CUSTOMER SERVICE DAY

Saturday, January 17, 2026

Customer Service Day is celebrated each year on January 17. No brand can exist without a customer, and every service and good is created keeping the customer in mind. When so much focus is on the consumer alone (and understandably so), we tend to forget that the customer service department has a huge role to play in ensuring that the customer gets the best of service and their complaints are heeded if the needed arises. For many brands, customer service has been made available round the clock so that a customer may seek help whenever they might need it. To create brand loyalty, businesses need to make sure that they have a quick and efficient customer service team.

The staff at Joslyn is here to make sure that you have good experiences here. From the time that you walk in and are greeted by Vivian or a volunteer at the front desk, to all of the staff, instructors and class leaders. From Majesty at the Wellness Center to all of the counselors. Joslyn Center is a place to come to enjoy yourself, have fun and learn a bit. If you have any issue or suggestions, we want to know. We have a Suggestion Box in the lobby for you to drop in your thoughts and ideas. We'd like to know what you think would be good for Joslyn to add or change. We also have a Programs Survey through the end of January. Please click on the link below or visit JoslynCenter.org/Survey to share your thoughts with us.

In Virginia, high school football is a way of life, an institution revered, each game celebrated more lavishly than Christmas, each playoff distinguished more grandly than any national holiday. And with such recognition, comes powerful emotions. In 1971 high school football was everything to the people of Alexandria. But when the local school board was forced to integrate an all black school with an all white school, the very foundation of football's great tradition was put to the test.

The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry is about a grumpy, widowed bookstore owner on a small island whose life changes dramatically when a toddler is left in his store, forcing him to confront his grief and isolation, find new love with a sales rep named Amelia, and build an unexpected family, ultimately discovering the transformative power of books and human connection. The story follows A.J. Fikry's journey from a cynical recluse, mourning his late wife and facing financial ruin, to a man who embraces parenthood and community, finding redemption and meaning through his relationship with his adopted daughter Maya and Amelia, all set within the literary world of his struggling bookstore, Island Books.
