NATIONAL INTERNET DAY
Thursday, October 29, 2026
| | |
National Internet Day connects us all every October 29. This day honors the profound impact of the internet on communication, commerce, and culture since its inception. Explore its history, celebrate its innovations, and consider its future possibilities.
The internet has become an indispensable lifeline for senior citizens, transforming how they age by bridging the gap between isolation and vibrant connection. For older adults, digital connectivity is far more than a convenience; it is a vital tool for maintaining independence, managing healthcare, and safeguarding mental well-being. Through video calls, social media, and email, seniors can instantly connect with distant family members and friends, drastically reducing the risks of loneliness and depression. Furthermore, the internet provides critical access to telehealth services, online pharmacy refills, and digital banking, allowing those with limited mobility to manage their daily lives safely from home. By opening doors to endless learning, entertainment, and essential services, the internet empowers seniors to stay informed, engaged, and deeply connected to the modern world.

WINE AND ALL THAT JAZZ:
SKETCHES OF SPAIN
Wednesday, November 4, 2026, 5:30-8:30pm
LIMITED TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE!
| | |
The 9th annual Wine and All That Jazz takes its inspiration from Miles Davis with Sketches of Spain. The theme embraces the wine, cuisine, music, and culture of Spain. In November 1959, Miles Davis' wife, Frances, insisted that he accompany her to a performance by flamenco dancer Roberto Iglesias. Inspired by the performance, Davis bought every flamenco album he could from the Colony Records shop in New York City. Working with arranger and composer Gil Evans on compositions largely derived from the Spanish folk tradition, the Grammy-winning Sketches of Spain was released in July 1960 to great acclaim as one of Davis’ most celebrated recordings.
Please join us for an Iberian excursion in support of vital programs and services for older adults in Indian Wells, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, and surrounding Coachella Valley communities. Tickets are $325 and sponsorships & underwriting opportunities range from $2,500 to $25,000 with commensurate benefits.

| | This action-packed thriller tells of four sixty-year-old elite assassins—Billie, Helen, Mary Alice, and Natalie, when they are forced out of their brief retirement. A year after the events of Killers of a Certain Age, the shadowy organization known as the Museum informs them that a mole has leaked an agency hit list. An Eastern European crime queen is systematically hunting down the agents responsible for disrupting her empire decades ago. Jet-setting across Europe to Venice, Sardinia, and Egypt, the deadly quartet leverages their perceived invisibility as older women to expose the mole, dodge lethal traps, and eliminate their ultimate nemesis. | | |
