HOLISTIC THERAPY DAY

Saturday, July 26, 2025

Holistic Therapy Day is celebrated on July 26 each year. Holistic therapy treats the human body as a synergy of mind, body, and soul. It aims to bring a harmonious balance among all the elements of the being. Unlike modem medicine, it does not treat an ailment or disease as an isolated problem. Holistic therapy believes every being is an amalgamation of their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects, so, recommends a comprehensive treatment that works towards nurturing all of them.

Holistic therapy supports that an imbalance in one aspect of the self can cause distress in another. For instance, prolonged mental stress has the potential to transform into physical sickness, hence, it aims to heal holistically rather than palliatively.

The practice of holistic therapy extends beyond the therapy room. A self-care practice that centers and nurtures all our senses falls under the umbrella of holistic therapy.

Joslyn Center and Joslyn Wellness Center have many activities that address your life through this holistic approach. Primarily, getting out and being with others is crucial for overall health and wellness. If you are suffering a loss or caring for someone whose functioning is limited, attending the Adult Bereavement or Caregiver Support Groups offers camaraderie, valuable information, and solid support. These benefits will then lead to easing your load and the stress that comes with it. Likewise, if you’re feeling out of shape, any of the classes involving movement will help you feel better overall. And, of course, meditation and brain health will certainly enhance your sense of well-being.

For specific issues, we have focused groups and classes, as well as English and Spanish counseling for individuals, couples, and family, including Problem-Solving Counseling & Support. Come join in at your own pace, even if it feels like a challenge. Your whole self deserves a holistic approach to life.

SPOTLIGHT CLASS OF THE WEEK

Majesty's Makeup Class

Thursday, July 17, 1-2pm

Majesty’s Makeup Class was one for the books. Everyone enjoyed guiding each other through the basics of a strong makeup routine. Majesty went over skincare essentials, makeup techniques, and product selection. The participants had a blast as they shared their personal experiences with makeup and gained some new insight along the way. They even got to practice what they had learned!

It was important for Majesty to create a safe and empowering space where women felt seen and supported. She wanted them to experience makeup not just as a routine, but as a form of self-expression and confidence. If you missed this session, you are encouraged to come and join them next month when the class will be exploring some new glam looks. Don’t forget to bring your own makeup bag and mirror. To register for the next session, please contact Majesty at 760-340-3220.

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for (audience)? Why should they care (benefit)? What do I want them to do (call-to-action)?

Create a great offer by adding words like "free," "personalized," "complimentary," or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take action, so consider inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
