Dear Joslyn Senior Center Members:
We want to share an important update with you regarding leadership at the Joslyn Center.
With heartfelt appreciation, we recently said goodbye to our Executive Director, Dr. Jay Seller. We are grateful for the contributions he made during his time with us and wish him well in his future endeavors. While we’re not able to share specific details regarding Dr. Jay’s departure, please know that the Joslyn Center Board of Directors remains fully committed to ensuring a strong and vibrant future for the Center.
We are fortunate to welcome back Jack Newby as our Interim Executive Director. Jack has generously agreed to come out of retirement to guide us through this transition while we conduct a national search for our next Executive Director. His leadership, experience, and deep knowledge of our community will be invaluable during this time.
As volunteers, your Board members are passionate about supporting our mission and continuing to build on the Joslyn Center’s reputation as one of the leading organizations serving seniors in the nation. Every board member volunteers their time and expertise to support the Joslyn Center and its members, and we welcome ideas on how best to make the Center the best it can be. Be assured that we have the best interests of the Center and its community as our primary motivation in serving on the board.
Feel free to reach out to Jack at any time with questions or comments you may have. In the meantime, the board is also scheduling “Coffee with Board Members” to give any member the opportunity to meet, ask questions, offer feedback, etc. The first one will be on Wednesday, August 13 at 8:30 a.m. at the Center, and all members are welcome to attend.
We are sincerely grateful for your continued support, understanding, and involvement as we move forward together. The Joslyn Center remains your community—rooted in care, connection, and service.
Barbara Mitchell
