Meals on Wheels and Penny’s Pantry
Meals on Wheels
The Joslyn Center's Meals on Wheels program provides homebound seniors with healthful meals on a consistent basis, enabling them to remain independent longer, stave off depression, and experience a reduction in catastrophic health issues.
Eligibility: Eligibility is determined by a homebound individual's inability to shop, drive, or cook to meet nutritional requirements for older adults age 50+.
Enrollment: Call or visit The Joslyn Center to receive an application or access one here: Meals on Wheels Application
Delivery: Fresh meals are delivered Monday through Friday between 9:00 am and 12:30 pm. If requested, frozen meals for the weekend are delivered on Friday. A frozen meal is also delivered the day before a holiday.
Service Area: Our Meals on Wheels program serves Indian Wells, Rancho Mirage, and Palm Desert (including Sun City). To find a Meals on Wheels program in your area, click here.
Cost: $6.50 for a fresh weekday meal and $5.00 for a frozen weekend meal. The Joslyn Center never denies meals due to an individual’s inability to pay and offers a confidential sliding scale for those in need.
The Joslyn Center does not receive state or federal financial assistance for this program.
Meals: Meals provide two-thirds of the USDA recommended daily allowance of nutrients for older adults and are delivered in containers that can be refrigerated. Pet food is also available.

Penny's Pantry
Since its inception in 2011, Penny’s Pantry, located on The Joslyn Center campus, continues to provide fresh produce and non-perishable food to thousands of low income seniors each year.
The pantry is open from 7:30 - 9:30 AM on the first and third Friday of each month and serves Cove Community (Indian Wells, Palm Desert or Rancho Mirage) residents, age 50+.
