Meals on Wheels and Penny's Pantry
The Joslyn Center Meals on Wheels program delivers prepared meals to area seniors 60+ who are not able to meet their dietary needs on their own due to difficulty shopping or preparing their own meals due to long term illness, injury, disability or general frailty. Joslyn delivers an average of 75 meals a day with over 19,000 meals delivered annually.
Service Areas and Meal Times - Meals on Wheels
Joslyn's program services Indian Wells, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert and Sun City (Palm Desert). Meals are delivered Monday through Friday between 9:00 am and 12:30 pm by a Joslyn volunteer. Meals can be reheated in an appropriate container. In addition to delivering fresh daily meals during the week, we now offer frozen meals to cover weekends and holidays. We also now offer Meals on Wheels for pets.
The cost per meal is $7.00 for weekday meals and $6.00 for weekend meals. These monies reimburse what Joslyn pays for each meal. We do not receive any government financial assistance. Grants and donations cover some of the cost. No senior should go hungry. Fees for meals will always be based on the ability to pay.

How to Help
This program relies solely on contributions and donations in order to maintain delivery of affordable and nutritious meals to our seniors. All contributions to the program are tax-deductible and are greatly needed and appreciated.
We also rely heavily on our caring and dedicated volunteers. This rewarding opportunity allows our volunteers to not only deliver the meals, but also stop in for a quick friendly visits and safety check with all our customers. Many times the volunteer delivering the meals is the only personal contact that is made for the senior on a given day.
Please contact our Social Services Director at 760-340-3220 x110 for more information about receiving meals, volunteering, or to receive an application.
